Kids are natural language learners and the earlier you start them on English learning, the better. The brain develops at a rapid rate at this age and repetition is essential for the development of new language skills. Try singing English songs with your children and reading books in the language to help them improve their fluency.
Children learn best when they are engaged, so play games that involve their favourite characters and activities to make English learning fun for them. Flashcards and worksheets for colouring and tracing words can also be helpful. Young kids have short attention spans, so it’s better to keep the learning sessions short and frequent.
For older kids, it is important to expose them to different grammatical structures in context. For example, teaching them the meaning of 'have got' and'must'/'mustn't' in context rather than as grammar rules will help them use them correctly when they talk.
During this stage, children will learn to identify and distinguish English sounds and letters, and they'll begin to recognize rhymes. They'll also become familiar with English prepositions such as 'next to', 'behind' and 'up'. They'll also understand quantities and be able to answer simple questions in English.
